Easy DIY Hyaluronic Acid Serum

This simple-to-make Hyaluronic Acid serum is perfect for beginners and seasoned formulators alike. If you’re new to creating a High Molecular Weight (HMW) Hyaluronic Acid solution, be sure to check out our YouTube tutorial for a step-by-step guide.

This formulation combines two powerful humectants for enhanced hydration, two aromatic hydrosols for a naturally light fragrance, and green tea extract to add an appealing marketing edge.

METHOD

1.Weigh PHASE A in a plastic beaker. Stir well.

2. Weigh PHASE B in a weigh boat or small plastic beaker. Whisk to create a slurry. Once the Solagum AX is completely hydrated and the slurry is smooth without any powder clumps you can proceed to the next step.

3. Pour PHASE B into PHASE A and stir well. The product will reach its full viscosity over a

24-hour period.

4. Check and adjust pH. If you are using pH strips, they measure in whole numbers. You will not be able to get an exact pH of 5.4-5.6. You can settle at 5 on the strips. The formulation might not need adjustment if using strips. Depending on where you source your materials.

5. Package in a serum bottle with either a dropper cap or an airless pump cap

NOTE:

I strongly advise against purchasing ingredients on Amazon, unless it’s from Making Cosmetics or TKB Trading storefront.

I have included my suppliers for you to cross-check INCI + CAS# to source the materials globally. Please remember emulsifiers with the same INCI but different CAS# can result in a different viscosity of your final product.
